This Feng Shui inspired single level home was designed as a figure 8.  The bottom half of the 8 includes the private and public rooms winter living and the top portion of the 8 includes the outdoor living areas summer living.  The designer sees all elements as radiuses and angles and states there is no such thing as rectangle in nature.  There is a vision of beauty displayed outside of each doorway, along each passway, and through every window. 

The entire home runs on a state of the art Vantage home automation system that can be programmed to individual personal settings for radiant heat flooring, all lighting, pool, spa, and waterfall.  The garage, entry way, and master bedroom have a master light switch to shut off all lights throughout the home.  In the evening lights are on a motion controlled timer as you exit a bedroom lights come on for 30 second intervals leading you to the public areas of the home turning off behind you.

Special features throughout the home include radiant heated polished concrete & merbau wood flooring, mosaic columns, art niches, reclaimed doors and gates imported from different parts of Asia, remote operable skylights, security system, and home audio speaker system.  The roof is copper barrel, copper shingle, and concrete slate with energy efficient solar panels.  There is a 2 car garage with an additional bay as well as a storage shed for potential wine cellar, workshop, gardening shed, or artist studio.  Additional storage can be found in an attic above the dining room and off of the garage.

As you enter the foyer, the home is divided down the middle.  To the left are the private rooms and to the right are the public rooms.  Feng Shui designed each en-suite bedroom has vestibules angled so that they do not meet each other. 

12 shutters imported from China of the Ming dynasty line the private guest room hallway for storage and 2 act as dummy panels for electrical and computerized systems.  All shutters have been refinished and inlayed with red silk.  Each shutter was hand carved by different monks.  

The first en-suite bedroom boasts panoramic views of the ocean and Coronado.  The European inspired bathroom with sandstone counters and tile, has a wet and dry component which includes a seating area.  

The second en-suite bedroom has a private courtyard with patio.  The marble bath features mosaic tiles and waterworks glass.

The laundry room has a doggy door entrance to a dog run and a very unique European 6 foot heater to hand dry sweaters and warm towels.

The master suite was designed so that the bed position ensures the sun does not set or rise in your eyes.  The double sided fireplace has sesame ledged stone on the bedroom side and granite with stainless steel on the sitting room side.   There is abundant built ins in an expansive master closet.

The master bath flooring features hand laid pebble stone and old nautilus with opalescent and clay tiles. There is also nautilus in the Cheng concrete countertops.  The toilet room boasts a master state of the art toilet with cutting edge technology.  It’s lid automatically lifts with programmable seat, heating component, cleansing jet, and on board drier.  The oversized spa has bubbles that come up from the bottom with mood lighting.  All the towel racks are heated.  There is a 2 person indoor and outdoor rain shower and steam sauna.  The flat boulder in the shower came from a tour in Shamei .

The indoor outdoor lanai with cantina doors with steps that cascade into the pool inspired by a camp in Kenya. 

The guest suite with kitchenette features a balcony overlooking the pool and spa.  The design is reminiscent of a balcony in Ankerwat Cambodia overlooking a lake. 

The front half of the living room is focused towards the glass walls with expansive views of the ocean, bay, Coroanado, & Downtown San Diego.  The rear portion of the living room is focused around the copper hearth and driftwood mantle adorned fireplace.  There is a large built in ceiling to floor book case.  The reclaimed doors built into the wall in the rear living room feature Chinese dragons representing the year of the dragon, prosperity, health and wealth.

The winter dining room with Italian light fixtures has an adjacent butler pantry.  There are Chinese shutters on ceiling layered over remote controlled skylights. 

The Euro ante room off the kitchen focused towards gardens and fountains. 

The kitchen features Cheng concrete, high bar and dining nook, glass mosaic backsplash, warming drawers for up to 12 plates, a pass-through from the garage to the kitchen for grocery, pantry behind brushed stainless steel door on light sensor, and floor to ceiling cabinetry.  The working triangle island has prep area with it’s own dishwasher drawer and the main sink with 2 dishwasher drawers.  There is also a separate beverage refrigerator and snack area.

The media room is setup for theater size seating and projector.

Outdoor living consists of a salt water pool and spa with waterfalls and custom lighting effects, oversized fire pit with seating for twelve, flagstone patios, and roof top terrace.
