If you need more worldly stimulus the towns of Brookfield and New Milford with their chain stores, movie theaters and excellent restaurants are a 10-15 minute drive. Washington and Lake Waramaug with their upscale arts scene, recreation and inns are just a few minutes further. Throughout the area there is hiking, great local theater, farmer&#8217;s markets, gourmet shops, art galleries, pretty much anything you could want. <br />

<p>Another wonderful aspect to the location of this home (and to Bridgewater in general) is its southern location in Litchfield County. The interstate is 10 minutes away, bringing you to midtown Manhattan in 90 minutes. The Brewster North train station is about 30 minutes away, from which you can catch a relaxing train ride directly into Grand Central. The location is the second reason the artists and discerning New Yorkers love this area for their relaxation. The third is the unpretentiousness. It&#8217;s 39 acres extend in a shaft away from the road and the house along a downward slope, partly filled by gardens close to the house and woodlands further away. It gives way to a long view of the distant hills to the west, also affording a view of the sunset every evening. <br />

<p>All in all, this home is the perfect answer for the busy city based family, artist or home based business looking for a compound in the country to update and make their own, close to all the conveniences you would want yet still feeling like a million miles away from everyone.</p>
